What Causes Frequent Urination Along With Fatigue And Blurred Vision?

Hi! I have a friend who is an 18 year old male. He is about 6 2 and a normal weight. He has a history of childhood rheumatoid arthritis... Anyways, he is experiencing frequent urination (every hour or so), high cholesterol (specifically for someone so active), fatigue, and blurred vision. Everything else on his CBC came back normal and 3 diabetes tests came back negative... His blood sugar was a bit low, but still close to the normal range. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It looks like Reactive Arthritis (Reiter's syndrome) since he is having eye complications(blurred vision), frequent urination; Reactive Arthritis is not contagious though caused due to infection by sexual contact(Chlamydia/salmonella) or by eating contaminated food. Get screening tests done, ESR, Urine/stool Samples, X-ray, gene testing, Joint aspiration if required.

You need antibiotic, NSAIDS, Immunosuppresants, rest. Do regular exercises. High cholesterol is indicative of developing coronary artery disease. Get lipid function tests done. You may require to go through Imaging tests, CBC, Urinalysis, echo, ECG, stress tests, etc. Eat boiled food, walk 2 kms once daily, take low carbohydrate diet, white flesh & vegetarian food.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
