What Causes Frequent Pus Discharge After Having Small Procedure To Drain Pyometra?

Hi I was diagnosed with Pyometra in December, I had a small procedure to drain. Since then appox. every 2 months a large amount of pus was discharged, I have been told this is ok. Now, it is occurring more frequently - sometimes only a gap of a week. Is this normal?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

This doesn’t seem normal as with drainage and antibiotics the pus should stop. If not then you might need to repeat the antibiotics course for it to stop. Get an ultrasound once and meet your gynecologist for proper treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rishma Lakhani, OB & GYN Specialist
