What Causes Frequent Loose Motions In A 4 Month Old?

hi dr.samuel, this is reddy from india, my baby is 4 months old and from last week onwards he is making 4-5 times per day loose motion, and even though he is active.we are giving him only brestfeed milk and some time warmed n cooled water. let me know what is the problem

Hello most likely your baby is ahaving gastroenteritis,It is usually caused by rota virus in infants.Keep on feding him pproperly.Make sure that breast and nipples are clean while the kid sucks milk.
therapy with oral zinc and metronidazole and ciprofloxacin can be given for 3 days to cover bacterial infection.
Please keep a check on dehydration and restless ness of baby,However its better to visit a pediatrician and a stool test should be done
