What Causes Frequent Dizziness After Having A Gastric Bypass Surgery?

Good morning, I am a 49 year old woman that has had gastric bypass about 3 years ago. I am getting light headed. Most of the time it is in the morning but not exclusively. I have tried not eating sugar and eating sugar, coffee and no coffee, none of those seem to effect the problem. It is not a constant but happens about 3 to 4 times a week. Do not effect my ability to walk or think, my speech seems sluggish during these episodes some times.

Hello,

We have to rule out possible causes like anemia and thyroid dysfunction.

Do a complete blood count to rule out anemia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
