What Causes Foul Smelling Gas And Digestion Problems After Stopping Smoking?

Hi, just wondered why every time I have stopped smoking I get constant foul smelling gas and have lots of digestive problems. And I bloat. That's why I always start again. This time I have not smoked for 5 weeks and I am determined not to start again just to solve this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

It is really good that you have determined to not smoke again.I congratulate you for the decision.Though you didn't mention your smoking duration and quantity, you have sufficient withdrawal features like digestive problems, smelling gas, constipation suggestive of heavy smoking dependence. Already you have suffered physically due to this habit. To get rid of withdrawl features you can take propranolol, some laxative and specifically bupropion. However best to consult deaddiction specialist, evaluated yourself and start this medicines according to prescription of the doctor. After sufficient time you are not having any features, you can stop medicines also as per doctor's advice gradually.
