What Causes Foul Smelling Clear Vaginal Discharge After Tubal Ligation?

Hi there, I had a tubal ligation done last Monday and have had a daily discharge or leak of liquid that has a foul smell to it. Is this common. It's mostly clear, almost pee like consistencency with a tinge of pink . It's been a week today. Any advice

No, It's not common,
Pink foul smelling discharge might be suggestive of Infection or inflammation, trauma of the genitourinary tract most commonly Vagina.

I see patients with similar complaints in my clinic and I would advise them for clinical examination and a battery of tests like blood for hemoglobin, CBC, Liver and kidney function test, urine culture and a vaginal swab for culture or an ultrasound to establish a diagnosis.

You may require a course of antibiotics either tablets or vaginal pessaries under supervision of your doctor.

Maintain good hygiene
Avoid sex or use condom until it heals completely
