What Causes Foul Smelling Bowel Movement And Constipation?

Hi, I ve been having a change of bowel patterns. I had very foul smelling flatulence that was uncontrollable for about 2 weeks that was paired with constipation and then incontrollable urges to eliminate my bowels. Today I also saw blood in my stool. Due to the diarrhea and frequent bowel movements over the past week, my anus is also very sore and I ve found some blood when I wipe. I m curious if I need to seek medical help, or if it is just hemorrhoids.

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Your symptoms are suggestive of Gastrointestinal infection, possibly bacterial. Stool analysis and culture is warranted at this point.Treatment is with antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and metronidazole which requires prescription. So please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and management.
