What Causes Foamy Urine While Suffering From Mild BPH?
foamy urine I am 53 years male. I have been on proscar for 3 years because of mild BPH. I was also taking Simvastatin 10mg/day to keep the cholestorol within limits until mid July 2011. I quit because I was having side effects of memory loss.I noticed that I have foamy urine in the last 1-2 weeks. What can be the problems? No other problem. Should I take blood tests and urine tests? Any specific tests I should take?Ben
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Foamy urine indicates a possible urinary tract infection. 2. Get a Urine microscopy done to evaluate for leukocytes, and bacteria. Based on it, culture and sensitivity can done to identify appropriate antibiotic. 3. If not simvastatin, you have to be on other anti-lipedemic agents to reduce cholesterol. Also weight loss and low fat diet with moderate exercises will be helpful. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
