What Causes Fluid Filled Sebaceous Cyst On The Scalp?
i have a subaceous cyst on my scalp and it seems to fill up with fluid when i press down on it. i m afraid there is a smell to it and am conscious of the fact that people in the office can smell the fluid. are there any home remedies i can do to prevent this build up?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A fluid filled cyst on scalp can be due to sebaceous cyst, boil etc. Bad odor from the cyst suggests superimposed infection. A clinical assessment is necessary to confirm the diagnosis of an infected cyst followed by antibiotics. Once the infection is controlled, the cyst can be surgically excised. However, before any treatment can be started, clinical assessment is necessary. In the meanwhile, you may take pain killers if associated with pain.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
