What Causes Finger Pain And Stiffness In Left Hand After Undergoing CTS Surgery?

Last thurs i had cts surgery on right hand under GA. At left hand a needle was inserted by anaesthetist. At site of needle plaster was placed when I was discharged. 2 days later I removed plaster. But since then I have a very painful middle finger on left hand cannot straighten or place flat. Plus I have a hard painful lump in my left palm just below middle finger. Why?what is this? Solution?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

The painful lump may be the cause for the difficulty in flexing and extending you finger and this will most certainly have to be physically examined. If the lump is painful it could have to do with a cyst, abscess, accumulation of blood or fluid, infection, etc.

But if toue are experiencing discomfort only while extending or flexing rhe finger then you may have to get examined for Dupuytren's contracture. Please do visit a physician or orthopedician.

Best wishes.
