Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Does she have any breathing difficulty? Any yellow sputum expectorating? This suggests a respiratory infection. If the fever is not coming down after 4 days, there is a chance that this is bacterial and may need antibiotic treatment. After examining chest, for such cases, I used to give Amoxiclav or Cefpodoxime for 5-7 days. Your doctor will guide you. Meanwhile, continue paracetamol for fever. Antihistamines like levocetirizine 5mg once daily may decrease cough.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
