What Causes Fever, Stomach Pain And Constipation In A Child?
My 7 year old daughter started complaining with a tummy ache. Then she got a fever. She has not complained anymore with her stomach but she is still running a fever. She has not had a bowel movement in 2 days. She has spit up or gagged 2 times. This is going on for 2 and a half days.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of fever, stomach pain and constipation in a child which could be due to infection either by viral microorganism leading to acute gastroenteritis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid intake of outside food. You should maintain hydration status of child. Give diet rich in fibrous food and give food in frequent and small amounts and avoid large meals. You should take Azithromycin as well as it could be the case of co-infection. Drink plenty of liquids. Visit General physician once and get it examined. Get blood tests done if symptoms keeps on persisting. Do tepid sponging as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
