Hello, The hard bump on the left side of the neck (cervical area) needs to be clinically examined to detect if it is a benign tumor, skin cyst, boil or infection due to lymph nodes enlargement. Cysts and benign tumors can be excised by surgical intervention and treated with anti inflammatory and antibiotic medicines. Since you have history of pain in the neck since three months you should get X-ray, CT and MRI cervical spine done to detect any developing pathology that is causing you discomfort. You will be treated according to the pathology detected. In the mean time, you can take NSAIDS, Naproxen / Combiflam, one SOS when needed for relieve from pain.
