What Causes Fever And Chills In The Evening?
Dr. Am 24 year old male now undergoing a marine engineer training .3 days onwards iam having fever.First day morning temp. Was 100.8F and that they I have to spent 2 hours on swimming for a compulsory course by evening temp increased to101.8F.I had paracetamol but by night whole head starts paining.Next day I saw Dr. He gave me 3 medicine 1) mefenamic acid and paracetamol tab2) doxycycline and lactic acid bacillus capsule doxy 1L-DR forte 3). Rabeprazole sodium and comparison SR capsule. Actually iam taking rest from evening 5 o clock to morn 7 o clock.Now problem is only after having medicine am ok and medicine is on morn and night.So by evening am again getting ill and temp.increases with shivering.A after having medicine at night becoming ok.Do I need full rest to cure fever.Or can I attend classes with out doing any physical activity.Or why my fever is like this for the past 3 days.Blood test report also no problem.Tofay is 4 th day by tomorrow my medicine ends.What should I do dr?

Hello,
Since your blood reports show normal results, you are suffering from fever of unknown origin. Do continue to take the medicines prescribed by your treating doctor.
Sometimes, shivering & chills can occur due to sudden lowering of your body temperature due to dehydration, low BP or hypoglycemia. Eat well, take nourishing food, soups, beverages & juice. Stay well hydrated so that your body's electrolyte is maintained.
Get a repeat blood test done, if fever continues you will need higher antibiotics or injections. Stay away from addictions if any. Eat small meals multiple times a day to help ease digestion.
For body pain, fatigue, a fever you can take NSAIDS(Combiflam) when needed. You may not take mefenamic acid. Stay away from stress. Take rest, keep yourself warm.
