What Causes Fatigue And Excessive Sleepiness While On Gabapentin?
I was recently started on Gabapentin, about 1 month ago .....the first week I felt energized, the last 2 weeks I have been exhausted , sleeping 3 to 4 hours some days , very tired & exhausted .....I am 57 all other medications I am on , I have been on for 15 or more years .. I am taking 300 mg at bedtime daily ..... medication tend to effect me a bit different than most other people .....my question is could this be a side effect of this medication ?

Yes fatigue and excessive sleepiness are side effects of gabapentin. You have not written why you have been taking gabapentin. If you would have written here, I could have suggested an alternative. You can write it later. Alternative medicines are available which is less sedating. Use depends upon your problem for which you have not written anything.
Advice
1. Continue gabapentin as suggested by your doctor
2. Exercise at least half an hour in a day
3. Practice meditation
4. Consult a doctor for further counseling and follow up
