What Causes Fainting Sensation/stomach Sickness With History Of Open Heart Surgery?

Hi. My mom had open heart surgery 6 weeks ago. She went to physical therapy today and then grocery shopping. While she was at the store she felt faint and sick to her stomach. She said she has been dry heaving. Do you think her blood sugar dropped or something else?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Fainting sensation in your case has to be carefully evaluated through monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar.Hypoglycemia and Hypotension if detected has to be corrected promptly when detected.I advise you to have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to evaluate the post bypass surgery status.Hydrate yourself adequately with 3-4 liters of water /day.Drugs like midodrine and fludrocortisone are needed in cases of refractory hypotension.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
