What Causes Extreme Fatigue After Foot Surgery?

I had foot surgery 4 weeks ago to replace joint of big toe on right foot. I had to rest, elevate and ice foot which I have done, but I am experiencing extreme fatigue. I can move around and then have to rest. So tired, do not want to move even to hold a book to read. I am still wearing a boot, not driving, etc. Mainly resting due to fatigue. My primary physician checked my vit b and d levels and both are normal. I did develop a UTI which I took for 10 days, off of now and not taking pain meds or antibitotics at present.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like anemia.

As of now drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
