What Causes Excruciating Pain In The Groin Area?

I lifted a heavy object ten years ago and felt a pull or pop in my groin area and I had instant excruciating pain there. it came and went over the years, however lately it came back and is not going away. Could this be a hernia or groin tear? THank you

i think you are suffering from inguinal hernia. heavy weight lifting ,chronic cough ,constipation can provoke it.to know the type you need to consult with a surgeon. it will help you to get appropriate treatment.
