What Causes Excessive Sweating?

Hello,
I am 41 years old and for the last couple of years I have been sweating a lot between my legs and buttock where it leaves a wet spot. If I am in the heat for an extended period or even when I'm just standing in the mirror applying makeup. Can you tell me what is causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Sweating is a normal response to heat: you get hot, you sweat, it cools your body down.
Sometimes excessive sweating can be the result of some other condition. Few causes include
Hyperthyroidism
Some form of Cancers
Certain medications like some psychiatric drugs, some medications for high blood pressure, medicines with which to treat a dry mouth, some antibiotics and some supplements.
Glucose control disorders include types1 and 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and hypoglycaemia (abnormally low glucose levels)
Many menopausal women report suffering from so-called hot flushes
Extreme stress and anxiety disorders can cause excessive sweating
Discuss this with your doctor and decide
Hope this helps
