I am 68 years old. my problem is that I sweat excessively when it is warm. I have always sweat when actively working or playing, but now it seems that the slightest warming in temp leads to sweating. Sweating starts at the back of my head and neck first then on my brow and temples. Why does this happen?

Hyperhydrosis. according to your sypmtoms this is hyperhydrosis means excessive sweating it may be localized confined to hands feet or axilla or generlized it may be primary(idiopathic) or secondry may be due to some disease or medication. chronic alchohlics and in takining some medicine and febrile or dibatic history is important. if such patient come to me after history and complete examination i will suggest thyriod function test to diagnose hyperthyriodism or thyrotoxicosis Glucose level for diabetes or hypoglycemia urinary chatecholamines for pheochromocytoma uric acid for gout. than specific therapy should start according to underlying factor. hope the answer will help you to asses and to make adecision for proper consultation. wish you good health.
