What Causes Excessive Sweating And Shortness Of Breath?

I had a spell when I started sweating heavily, had shortness of breath, and had a feeling of weakness in both arms. This happened while I was bowling. The bowling alley was air conditioned and was very comfortable. I sat down, drank a soft drink, and within 10 minutes I was not having any of these feelings. Should I be alarmed by this or caulk it up to a 1 time event? This has not occurred again either.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I can understand your concern. As this happened during bowling, the cause may be hypoglycemia or exhaustion. As you felt better after taking a soft drink, it may be due to low sugar level.
I don't think that it will happen again, if you take proper food before game.

Take care.
