Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain excess mucous in throat along with
sore throat can be due to either bacterial or viral
throat infection leading to
Pharyngitis..
But if there are no symptoms of cold and sinus congestion, then they seems to be most probably due to bacterial infection..
Excess mucous formation seems to be most probably due to irritation in throat leading to over-stimulation of
salivary gland leading to excess mucous formation..
Also due to sore throat there is difficulty and pain in swallowing and it leads to a feeling that you have excessive mucous even when it is not apparently too much.
Secondly white coating inside the tongue seems to be due to yeast infection or thrush and a microscopic examination of the tongue scraping can help in diagnosis and if thrush is diagnosed then antifungal medications like Nystatin mouthwash,
clotrimazole lozenges and oral antifungals like
Fluconazole will help..
I would suggest you to consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics like
Augmentin, anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can help..
You can also suck throat lozenges, chew Vitamin C pellet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
