What Causes Excessive Facial Hair And Fungal Skin Infection?

I am a 34 year old female the past year and a half ive been having all kinds of hair on my face and body grow in thick and very coarse sometimes long sometimes white and black, many times they are several hairs in grown under the skin in the same follicle. I m having the same problems with my eyelashes and eyebrows and have even lost a large amount of hair on my head. when the hairs come back in they come in ingrown one after the other often times with a coarse clear or white hair that is very different texture and color than that of my normal hair grows in almost over top my other hairs. It is very unsightly, itches and hurts. often even resulting in acne and blemishes due to ingrown hairs and infection. It is possible that I may have a sever demodex mite infestation, but cannot find a remedy or diagnoses. At one point my skin was breaking open everywhere and my skin always feels greasy and dirty and the hairs grow in so coarse that they even cause discomfort laying on the skin and poking into the folds and creases of my skin. Whats causing this? The demodex mite or something else or several things? Ive also been treating myself for fungal infections on my skin

Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a clinical exam by your treating doctor [endocrinologist]and do few investigations like [Fasting blood sugar, TSH, lipid profile, Prolactin, FSH and LH] and Ultrasound to confirm it.

2)Do take medication as per test report only.

Do take few preventive steps like this -

1)Try to keep your weight in check.

2)Consider dietary changes. You may want to consider a low-carbohydrate diet. Limit less healthy, simple carbohydrates such as soda, excess fruit juice, cake, candy, ice cream, pies, cookies and doughnuts.

3)Try to be active. Exercise helps controls blood sugar levels.

Regarding skin problem do a physical examination by your dermatologist, and he will do a skin scrapings and it will be examined whether it is fungus or not and take medications as per findings only.

Hope that helps
