What Causes Excessive Burping And Bad Breath While Treating Cold And Flu?
HI I recovered from a cold or flu this past week but have been feeling really tired. My face is red and warm, and I seem to have an odor coming from the back of my throat. I have an appetite but if I eat I am burping non stop and seem to have a thicker layer of saliva forming at the back of the tongue
The symptoms you are indicating are pointing towards sinus infection or Sinusitis..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room.. You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.. Do warm compresses around nostrils..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
