What Causes Energy Loss, Lump In Groin, Fever And Chills For 55-year-olds?
My son, age 55, is experiencing loss of energy, lump in groin, low grade fever and chills. Had an MRI today. No results. Is having some special urine test and blood work. Has to go to urologist to have a needle biopsy of the groin. We want him to go to the ER but he wants to wait to hear back from his dr. Tomorrow. These symptoms started on Friday/Saturday. Is it wise to wait til tomorrow? Thank you
The lump in the groin can be related to a reactive lymph node due to an infection. I suggest to do a complete blood count and a urine test. Meanwhile,I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the fever and chills.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
