I recently was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica. I am on 15 mg of prednisone daily. Since I was diagnosed, I have had come other strange symptoms. They include rapid heart beat. I was at rest and my throat tightened and my heart rate soared to 115 beats per minute. I have tightness in my jaw along with the rapid heart beat. I wake in the middle of the night with tightness in my chest and a burning pain like a very bad case of heartburn. I am on omeprazole so wonder why this happens. I also have begun to perspire excessively at all times day and night and if I engage in any activity at all even putting on clothes, I get soaking wet from perspiration.
