What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels While On Doxycycline Monohydrate?

My husband is taking doxycycline monohydrate 100 mg for Rocky Mountain spotted fever. His blood sugar has spiked each day as he has been taking this medication. Could either of these cause his sugar to spike to 367 which his has always stayed around 100 or 147 the highest but now it keeps going up.

Hi thank you for querry,
As you mentioned tha your husband taking doxycycline for Rocky mountain spotted fever, not the medicine neither the fever complication is high sugar level.
Doxycycline may cause hypoglycemia rather than hyperglycemia.
You must check his blood sugar regularly and monitor.
consult your diabetalogist for specific tests like FBS,RBS,GTT
and prompt diagnosis and treatment.
dietary modifiaction and wieght reduction ia also needed.
Hope the answer will help you to asses your husband condition and decision making for consultation.
Wish him a speedy recovery.
