What Causes Elevated ALT And AST Levels?

Hello Sir , my ALT is 173 and AST is 54. I don t drink at all and I don t smoke. I went for test no Hepatitis A,B and C. Wht could be the possible cause of this increase in ALT and AST. The pains is much on my lower rib . What medications do I need now

Hello,

You are hepatitis A, B, C negative as per mentioned history. Rule out fatty liver by ultrasound abdomen scan. Your cholesterol levels also should be checked. 

If fatty liver not present, then viral infection history should be taken as a temporary viral infection also can lead to elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP). Get back with reports for giving more comment
