What Causes Electrifying Sensation In Chest After A Mild Injury On Neck And Back?

Hi , I hurt my neck and back mildly a couple of weeks back( felt kinda of like a rib was poking at my back and my front chest wall), I went to 2 osteopaths who said I was very tight from stress but it should improve soon ( the first one said one side of my hip was higher then the other and that could be the source of my pain) anyway it has gotten about 30 per cent better BUT, I have these strange electrical current like waves in my chest and back ( where the original strain happened) this happens especially when i m lying down but also ,sometimes when i,m sitting ) ( I am at my computer a lot) please let me know what you think! thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is good to know that you are already under the treatment of orthopedics. Get a follow up examination done when you have some discomfort or complication. You can take the help of a physiotherapist, stretch exercises under observation are effective. Take small amount of home made food multiple times a day and avoid constipation to prevent acid reflux as it may trigger chest tightness.

Take antacid and PPI's for relief. You can take laxatives at bed time. Stay well hydrated. Avoid oily food, trans fat, red meat, etc. To stay on the safer side get clinically examined by a cardiologist, get blood tests, Urinalysis, lipid functions tests, stress tests, Echo, EKG, etc done to rule out Angina or any developing coronary artery disease.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
