What Causes Dry Mouth And Frequent Urination While Having Degenerative Disc Disease?
53 yr old male non smoke 250lbs dry mouth, drink water and have to pee shortly after (clear) every 2-3 hours, fall asleep multiple times during the day can t stay up, joints very painful, I do have degenrative disc disease in my lower back very painful no drugs at this time except tylenol when needed.... I am trying to see if anybody can help me understand why I fall asleep all the time and any ideas why I am having to pee so much... Thanks Rich ..... YYYY@YYYY

i have gone through your query and i understand your concerns
if i were your treating physician i would have done your fasting glucose test or oral glucose tolerance test to look for diabetes as frequent urination(poly urea) and frequent water intake(polydypsia) occurs in this situation.for diabetes i would have prescibed biguanides such as metformin 500mg or sulphonylureas or glitazones such as pioglitazone.
i would also have ruled out sjogren's syndrome by blood tests for anti SSA or anti SSB antibody,by asking about dry eyes,parotid swelling and salivary scintigraphy in case of parotid swelling.arthritis,drye mouth and dry eyes are common in sjogren's syndrome.it is autoimmune disease.
i would suggest you to meet a medical specialist
