What Causes Dry And Swollen Lips Post Injection For Dental Work?

I had a few fillings to be done so the denstist injected two needles for numbness. Afterwards it was swollen for hours but then the swelling started going down but my lips have never been the same. About 3weeks later i noticed they get dry alot and are alot bigger than they used to be?

I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns. ..

As per your complain it seems that you have Angioedema of the lips due to allergic reactions with some of the components of the local anaesthetic agent leading to swelling of the lips...
As you notice that the lips are larger in size it is due to swelling only and it is due to Allergic Angioedema. .

You can take Allegra 60mg twice daily for 5 days..
Do cold compresses over the lips..
Avoid pressing or biting over the lips..
In case if the swelling does not improve you have to sake Steroids orally like Prednisone and Epinephrine injection to reduce the allergic reaction but it has to be done under supervision of a Physician after a proper clinical evaluation. ..
