What Causes Drainage Of Stringy White Material From Vagina?

So, I m having my period, it started yesterday, and then when I pulled my tampon out, I realized there is something white? I think it s a discharge but I don t really know. So, um, I, checked and, the white thing is string-like (its like cell?) and it seems to kinda have mixed with blood clots so it kinda freaks me out, what is it? I can tell more in detail if needed. It s also not sticky or anything.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. The vaginal discharge could be normal or due to fungal infection and it appears to be something not to panic. if the discharge was with bad or yeasty smell it could be fungus like Candida which can be treated easily with anti-fungal available over the counter and washing the intimate area with mild medicated wash once a day. Other symptoms of fungal infection is itch around the genitals, if symptoms does not subside by following the above suggested treatment kindly consult a doctor to get examined.
Thank you.
