What Causes Double Vision And Dizziness While On Gabapetin?
I have been on gabapetin since 2012 mostly for anxiety at 100 mg. 3x daily. Increased dosage to 300 mg.3xdaily for pain from 2 herniated discs. About a year ago, I started having problems with my eyes, i.e.double vision and judgement issues involving driving. Have had 3 eye exams in the last 1 and 1/2 years and as I do have dry patches as a result of graves disease, it does not seem like this is enough to cause the other problems including dizziness. I did only take 1 300 mg yesterday and was better today...is it ok to go down to that mg.?
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it's direct side effects of gabapentin due to inhibitory neurotransmitters in its mode of action and should be decreased as issues will persist in such dose and the only way is decreasing the dose.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
