What Causes Dizzy Spells And Groggy Head When Hung Over?

I have random dizzy spells, mainly when i'm hungover, but often have a feeling of a groggy head (feels very heavy!), I have in the past had two seizures from narcotics abuse which I havent touched for almost 3 years. I had an echo on my heart and they said everything was fine. I do smoke but Im not particularly unfit, and play sport regularly. Last time I saw my GP he said my HR was a little high but i put that down to nerves! ANy suggestions

A normal impression on ECHO is good news to begin with and engaging in sports or physical exercise regularly is also a welcome routine.
Having a high heart-rate for a baseline could indicate multiple factors: it could either suggest a high normal range or may also point towards underlying cardiovascular problems.
The past history of narcotic abuse and withdrawal seizures does not seem harmful for the current status, as long as you have successfully remained abstinent from any intake till date.
As clinicians, we do not recommend smoking to our patients. But i would suggest you to recall the hazards of long term smoking on our health, including the increased risk of hypertension and cardiac events in predisposed individuals.
I would want to offer more precise help, if you can provide me with some more information regarding:
1. your age and gender
2. how much is you heart-rate when you are relaxed?
3. any family history of hypertension or cardiac events (heart related problems)?
4. if you have experienced episodes of breathlessness, choking sensation or tremors, sweating?
