What Causes Dizziness Post Sulfamethoxazole Intake?
My 102 yr old aunt is taking sulfamethoxazole for a sore on her face that has not yet been diagnosed. Doctor is referring to dermatologist for biopsy but concerned about infection meanwhile. She has taken 3 doses and is feeling dizzy with a dry mouth. Are they side effects? Should she half the dose of one tablet 2x/day? She weighs about 75 pounds. Thanks

Dizziness, nausea, diarrhea,headache may be side effects of Sulfamethoxazole. Dosage is right and need not to be lower,but if symptoms worsen or you notice skin rash, immediately stop it and call your doctor to have another prescriptioned antibiotic.
