What Causes Dizziness Along With Headaches And Facial Pain?

I am 89 years old and have been suffering from dizziness for the past week. I was diagnosed with BPPV several years ago and went in yesterday for the usual treatment, but was refused because the technician could not see the eye roll associated with that condition. I was sent to a second doctor who cleaned out my ears (leaving the left one bleeding!), and who suggested I see a therapist. Meanwhile I am still dizzy. I also have had repeated headaches, some facial pain, and experience phantom odors. Until I see my doctor in May for a regular checkup, any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you need a detailed neurologist review and brain imaging may be needed and central causes of vertigo must be ruled out.

Meanwhile medications for BPPV may be continued alongside Carbamezapine for nerve pains or headaches as you experienced.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin,
