What Causes Dizziness After Tuning Into Loud Music?

When I am listening to music (particularly in the afternoon, around 5ish), if it is fast, I will begin to feel dizzy and hot. It Wil sound faster and more high pitched than it should. Should I be worried? If so, are there any mental disorders involving this?

Hi,

It is possible that your symptoms could be related to noise-induced hearing loss or a related condition called tinnitus. Exposure to loud music or other loud noises can damage the delicate hair cells in the inner ear, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and difficulty hearing.

In some cases, these symptoms can be a sign of a more serious underlying condition such as Meniere's disease or acoustic neuroma. These conditions are rare but can cause symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, and hearing loss.

It is important to seek medical attention from a healthcare provider if you are experiencing symptoms such as dizziness or tinnitus after exposure to loud music or other loud noises. They may recommend diagnostic tests such as a hearing test or MRI to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.

There are also mental health conditions that can cause symptoms such as dizziness and sensitivity to loud noises, such as anxiety or panic disorders. It is important to discuss your symptoms with a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and receive appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
