What Causes Dizziness After Taking Naproxen With History Of Heart Attack?

I have had a hart attack and was taken off of Naproxen, now after 2- years i have just started taking it again. I am not sure it it wise for me to restart this medication for my back pain with all the other hart meds i am on? have been experiencing some dizzyness lately, can it be the Naproxen?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Naproxen can lead to retention of sodium and water in individuals with past history of heart attacks.THis can lead to a form of congestive cardiac failure causing low output and reduced blood pressure causing sympoms of dizziness.I advise you to have complete renal profile along with a baseline 2 dimensional echo to assess the heart function.I also advise you to stop the usage of this drug as it can lead to worsening heart failure.Monitor your blood pressure twice weekly to detect any fall in the blood pressure at the earliest.Consider alternative modes of analgesia after consulting your neurosurgeon for the back pain.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
