What Causes Discomfort In Upper Stomach And Mid Chest Area After Eating?

I woke up in the middle of the night a few times with a discomfort in my upper stomach/mid chest area. I m almost certain it is some type of acid reflux issue... When I bend over it is worse in the esophagus/tube area ....when I lay down it is worse in this same area. The discomfort goes down into the upper stomach area as well. It feels like a burning/irritation/indigestion..... I do drink quite a lot of soda pop on a daily basis and did eat Mexican food for dinner last night. I haven t had any pop today because of the discomfort. I took a generic zantac and a prilosec this morning. Any suggestions on how to feel better soon?
