What Causes Difficulty In Urination With Presence Of Tissue Particles In Urine?

Last night I began experiencing urgency to urinate which I could not do I drank like 3 bottles of water and the feeling was still there and then I noticed I passed some pink particles that looked like tissue to me. I continued to drink water and then after four or five times after urinating normally I felt a lot better. Could this be something serious?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the issue of difficulty in urination with presence of tissue particles in the urine indicates underlying urinary infection most likely.

* The difficulty in urination is related to passage of white blood cells in urine through bacterial infection, underlying inflammation of urinary bladder or urethra most likely.

* E.coli is the usual bug responsible in majority of the urinray tract infections.

* Tissue particles in urine are in concern with the passage of epithelial cells from the bladder wall epithelium mostly.

My guidelines at present:

- drink plenty of liquids including boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water, barley water, butter milk

- cranberry pills or sachets

- consume more of citrus fruits as oranges, berries

- chewable vitamin C tablets

- maintain vaginal hygiene

- avoid sexual intercourse if active

- avoid prolong use of same vaginal tampons

- wipe vaginal area from back to front after wash room use

* Consult your doc for evaluation with urine microscopy report and antibiotics prescription with supportive care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
