What Causes Difficulty In Sleeping After Using Buprenorphine?

I have used norphinr pain patches for approx 18 months . 5 micro grams per hour. They are 7 day patches, but on the seventh night I feel tense and have difficulty getting a good night s sleep. Could this be that the patches are getting weaker, and I get withdrawal symptomsymptoms.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is no doubt in this fact that it is used for opioid withdrawal and chronic pain but with continuous use, its effect decreases.

So better would be to consult ur physician to switch to a combination of Buprenorphine and naloxone which is the next best option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Hashim Khan, General & Family Physician
