What Causes Diarrhea, Chills And Fever After Taking Amoxicillin?

I had a reaction to amoxicillin yesterday (I had never been allergic to it in the past). I had a swollen tongue fever, chills, dry heaves and diarrhea. The fever has gone, as have the chills, the swollen tongue and the dry heaves. I have very mild diarrhea as I begin to eat again. I do, however, have some tingling in my face. There is no rash but it is annoying. It itches but when I touch or rub it it goes away at that particular spot.

Hello,

After taking amoxicillin common side effect is diarrhea but you have itching, swollen tongue and other problems that may be because of allergy of it. Consult your physician for clinical examination and proper history. Blood test helpful to rule out a problem. Treat the underlying cause.
