What Causes Diarrhea And Cold Hands While Suffering From Hypertension?

I have high blood pressure, mainly due to stress recently i believe, and i occassionally get cold hands, diarrhea, very dark green almost black stool and gastro discomfort. I was on blood pressure medication (metoprolol) for almost 3 months, but was unfortunatley getting too many side effects. I stopped about 3 weeks ago. Almost all the side effects have gone away.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The normal brown color in stool is due to changes that occur to the bile as it passes through the colon. If stool passes frequently then the bile does not have the time to undergo its changes and the stool remains green

Green stool can also be influenced by diet as well.

Black stool can be due to blood, pepto bismol or iron supplements.

You may need a stool sample sent to the lab to determine if an infection is present.
Probiotics may help. If the stool is black then a blood count may also be needed as well

I hope this helps
