What Causes Depression And Fatigue After An Anal Fissure Surgery?

My son is 50 and just recently had an operation for anal fissure which he had suffered for many months since then he has not been able to gain wt. andhasfatigue all the time and does not sleep well .I think he is depressed. Could this be a result of his awful experience from the fissure? I am very worried about him.

Hi, I'm dr.Anto

Thank you for submitting your question.

Anal fissure surgery is a simple procedure alright, but even before the surgery the patient would be in a depression state since its something that you don't talk everyday and might ashame by himself.

A depression post-operation would be the caused of this. I would suggest you to take your son to a psychiatrist or even to the surgeon that operate him to explain him more about it so he can be more relaxed.

Anal fissure won't be exacerbate.

thank you.
