What Causes Delays In Menstruation With Stomach Cramps?

Hi i was sterilized around 20 years ago not sure what procedure but think my tubes were cut and burned. My periods are ALWAYS like clockwork , i am now 2 weeks late and have stomach cramps ,sore breasts etc. went to my gp where she did a pregnancy test which was neg but was told i was slightly glowing towards a water infection . I have no symptoms of a water infection ie burning or itchy , my test result came back and i have to retake this test. half of me feels pregnant but keep telling myself i can t be because of my sterilization . Could you PLEASE tell me what could be the problem . I also have no symtoms of pre menopause . Thank You

Hallow Madam,

You have undergone tube cutting and burning surgery 20 years ago. I infer from that by now you must be above 45 years of age.

Madam, after 20 successful years of birth control after tubal occlusion, the chances of pregnancy are almost nil. You can exclude the possibility of pregnancy.

At this age (45+ years), you are approaching menopause. In the perimenopausal age, the menses do become irregular and then gradually, they vanish. I feel delay in your menses could be due to approaching menopause. You should not have any stress about it. I do not think you need any treatment for it.

The discomfort in the breasts also can be attributed to the perimenopausal changes.

The pain in abdomen is likely to be due to water infection of your intestines, as your doctor has informed you. Oral rehydration will give you relief. Usually these infections are self limiting and get cured without any antibiotics. However, if it starts becoming worse, please report to your doctor who will review the decision about antibiotics.

I hope this advice helps you.
