What Causes Delayed Periods While Suffering From PCOD?

Hi doctor..I have pcod problem and I am married and this month I have not getting my periods and my last periods are on 28 april and I got negative pregnancy test and after consulting my doctor she suggested me deviry tablet from 5th to 9 June..I.e 5 days but still I am not getting my periods...What is the reason?I have taken medicines for pcod from last 1 year and getting periods every month but from may month I am not getting my periods.

Hi I think it can take 10 to 14 days for periods to come after stopping the tablet. If they don't come after that, do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first. If negative, you may need a combination of oestrogen and progesterone for inducing periods. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level done. Periods can get delayed in PCO due to absence of ovulation. Hope it helps.
