What Causes Delayed Periods After Recovering From A UTI?

Hello , I ive had a Uti Since Saturday, I was due for my periods Tuesday and i did a early morning home pregnancy test Tuesday morning with a faint positive, my UTI got worse I did another pregnancy test today and it was negative. Stillno periods, I am currently taking antibiotics started last night. My question is can a UTI cause a negative result for a home pregnancy test. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic

Urinary tract Infection will not give false negative pregnancy test. However, since your first test gave a faint positive, possibility of pregnancy is likely.
Please be advised to repeat the home pregnancy test. Make sure to use the first morning urine sample for testing.
If still negative and you are not getting periods, blood test to measure HCG level need to be done.

Hope this answers your questions
