Hello,

Delay in periods commonly occurs due to pregnancy. Other medical conditions that cause a delay in periods are PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, anemia, hormonal problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, premenstrual syndrome, menopause or psychological stress.

If you had unprotected intercourse & were not on BC pills & did not take Emergency CP than you can be pregnant.

You can have a repeat urine or blood test to confirm pregnancy. HCG shows up faster in the blood than urine.

You are suggested to visit a gynae & get physically examined to detect any other medical condition causing a delay in pregnancy. Get treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
