What Causes Dark Urination, Rashes On Legs And Headache While Treating Kidney Infection?

my daughter, 20 yo, went to urgent care early this morning and was told that she has a kidney infection and was put on an antibiotic. After three doses and lots of water, she still has dark tea colored urine, high fever, chills, and now has a rash on her legs. She also has pain in her neck and a bad headache. I was wondering if she might have meningitis.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possible causes like glomerulonephritis must be ruled out. Meningitis is very unlikely. Go for a urine routine examination to look for red blood cells and protein in the urine. Ultrasound abdomen is also required.

As of now drink plenty of water and take over the counter available analgesics like paracetamol for a headache.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
