Hello there,
Complexion is a polygenic trait I.e it does not just depend on 1 set of genes. It also depends on how the genes express themselves in the presence of their counterpart. So it is not like making coffee where say you take milk and coffee and when you mix them you get latte. It is much more complicated. The child gets his genes from you and his mother but also he has genes given to him by his grandparents. So we have cases with fair parents having darker kids and vice versa.
It is normal and nothing to worry about.
Thank you for your query,
